My thoughts

Ease into practicing after a prolonged absence

Be easy on your chops after you have taken some serious time "off" the horn. It will not do you any good to put in a marathon practice session the first time back to the woodshed. Go back-and-forth between activities and give your embouchure lots of opportunity to pump some blood back into the lips and some time to rest. The heavy lifting can be done again in a few days.
